Bulgaria's Finance Minister Milen Velchev and EC chief representative to Sofia Dimitris Kourkoulas are to sign Friday the financial memorandum on the construction of a new bridge over Danube river.

The memorandum, which is under the ISPA program, ensures free funding of EUR 70 M for the bridge's construction. The sum, granted by the European Commission, guarantees the full financing of the project.

The second Danube bridge is to connect the Bulgarian West-North city of Vidin with the Romanian city of Kalafat.
