US Deputy Secretary of State Frid on NATO enlargement

US Deputy Secretary of State Daniel Frid gave a speech Friday at a session of the US Senate Foreign Policy Board on NATO's future, saying that Macedonia, Albania and Croatia should be considered for inviting to join the Alliance in 2008, followed by the other countries of the region.

Frid said that KFOR would continue to take care for the security of Kosovo in the critical period after settling of its status.

He also referred to US proposal for deploying an anti-missile shield in Europe, unanimously supported by NATO members, expressing hope for cooperation with Russia in this respect.
