Ahmadinejad wraps up Venezuela visit, heads for New York |

Tuesday, 19 September 2006 President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wrapped up an official two-day visit to Venezuela Monday night and departed for New York to attend the 61st annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, which begins Tuesday (today).
The Iranian president, heading a delegation, was officially seen off by his Venezuelan counterpart, Hugo Chavez.
During the farewell ceremony, the national anthems of the two countries were played and the two presidents reviewed a guard of honor.
While in Caracas, representatives of the two sides signed several memoranda of understanding and bilateral agreements in the presence of Ahmadinejad and Chavez for expansion of cooperation in various fields.
President Ahmadinejad arrived in Caracas Sunday on the last leg of an official tri-nation tour that has already taken him to Senegal and Cuba.
