The public shares in Halk Bank have been included in the privatization scope and program. The sale will be realized via the block sale method. The notification of the Privatization Higher Board (+ûYK) regarding the issue was published in the Official Gazette yesterday. According to the notification, the privatization procedures will be completed by May 25, 2008.
Meanwhile, when the large privatizations which have been previously realized are taken into consideration, it is observed that if the tender announcement is made in September, the privatization of Halk Bank may be completed during the first quarter of 2007.
During these huge privatizations, nearly 2.5-3 months are needed for the processes such as preliminary compliance, information room and field tour which are held between the periods of tender announcement and proposal obtainment.
Since nearly one month is needed for the proposals to be obtained, evaluated and for the determination of the winning firm, the privatization is achieved within almost four months.
