Wednesday, 2 August 2006Turkey's industrial production was up 9 percent in May 2006, compared to May 2005, Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) announced on Monday. According to TUIK's figures, the production capacity in mining sector increased 8.3 percent, while the rise in manufacturing industry was 9.1 percent.
The electricity, gas and water production was up 7.7 percent in May 2006. Turkey's industrial production rose 2.4 percent in May 2005. On the other hand, production in mining industry was up 18 percent. The rise in manufacturing industry was 1.4 percent, and in electricity, gas and water production it was 7.7 percent.
