Portugal defender Francisco Jose Rodrigues Costa -- also known as Costinho -- on Wednesday warned against underestimating Iran for Saturday's crucial Group D showdown in Frankfurt.

"The (Iranian) team played very well against Mexico. They will challenge us more than Angola," DPA quoted Costinho as saying from the Portuguese World Cup base in the western town of Marienfeld.

"However it will be difficult for Iran to reach the next round following their loss against Mexico," added Costinho who also expected Deco to play in the Iran match.

Portugal won its inaugural match 1-0 against World Cup debutantes Angola in Cologne on Sunday.

Iran has to beat Portugal to have any chance of advancing to the second round.
