LONDON, June 13 (IranMania) - European Union High Representative for a common foreign and security policy, Javier Solana, said that more meetings will be needed with the Iranian side to discuss the new EU package to resolve the nuclear issue, IRNA reported.

"We will need some other meetings to exchange of views because there are a lot of things which are not easy to digest in a very short period," Solana told a press conference in Luxembourg Monday evening following the meeting of EU foreign ministers.

"It is not very easy to give a clear response in a short time. We know that," he said.

"The problem is very complicated ," Solana said adding that at the end of the day he expected Tehran will give an answer in a positive way.

"What is important is to follow the track which everybody is taking.

We will continue to maintain the atmosphere, the temperature as cool as possible to continue contacts that will help resolve the problem, not to complicate the situation," he said.

Solana said he expects an answer from Iran "very soon." "Before the end of the week we will have contact with them," he said.

On her part , Austrian foreign minister Ursula Plassnik, whose country holds the current EU Presidency, said Solana briefed the EU foreign ministers on his trip to Tehran last week to present the package to Iran.
