Columbus IT has announced today the foundation of its new regional office for the Middle East region - Columbus IT Middle East.

It is a part of Columbus' strategy to strengthen its international presence and establish offices in fast growing markets.

The foundation of Columbus Middle East is based on a joint venture between Columbus IT and Algosaibi Information Systems (AGIS). AGIS (which is part of Khalifa A. Algosaibi Holding Company, with annual Turnover $600M and 3500 employees), is a leading provider of IT solutions throughout the Middle East and North Africa. The newly founded Columbus IT Middle East will take over the Microsoft business of AGIS and serve the Middle East region. AGIS has 25 Microsoft professionals with focus on Microsoft DynamicsTM AX (Formerly Microsoft Axapta) and Microsoft DynamicsTM NAV (formerly Microsoft Navision), and they will be transferred to the newly established Columbus IT Middle East office. AGIS also has around 35 MBS customers in Middle East.

Columbus IT Middle-East will have offices in Dubai and it will leverage AGIS' regional presence in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah and Bahrain. Ayad Algosaibi will become the Managing Director for Columbus IT Middle-East.

'This transaction is a part of Columbus global expansion strategy to invest in new markets and expand our geographical presence in order to work with international and local customers. Together with our recent Mexican establishment, Columbus will have from today offices in 24 countries,' says Michael Gaardboe, CEO of Columbus IT.

'We are delighted to partner with Columbus IT in serving the growing enterprise needs of the Middle East. While AGIS has already established a strong reputation as a quality-oriented, experienced MBS partner in the Middle East, now we shall leverage the international expertise and brand recognition of Columbus IT at the regional level. Definitely, there is a clear need for world-class solution providers in the Middle East, and Columbus IT will provide the region with international MBS-based solutions and services, localized to suit regional needs,' stated Ayad Algosaibi, Managing Director, Columbus IT Middle East.

'Columbus IT presence comes in line with our solid growth plans for Microsoft Dynamics in the Gulf. We welcome Columbus IT to the region and believe that their international expertise combined with AGIS' strong regional presence and market knowledge is vital to sustain that growth' said Fayez El Khoury, Microsoft Dynamics Group Manager, Microsoft Gulf.
