Friday, 12 May 2006Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad says his country is not afraid of possible U.S. military action over its nuclear program.
But the Iranian leader said he thought any such strikes are very unlikely.
Ahmadinejad made the remarks on May 12 in Jakarta in a dialogue with Indonesian Islamic leaders.
Ahmadinejad accused the United States of waging a propaganda campaign against Iran, but said Iran and its people are not afraid.
The United States accuses Iran of using its civilian nuclear program to develop nuclear weapons. Iran strongly denies this, saying its nuclear program is solely for generating electricity.
