Monday, 12 December 2005LONDON, December 12 (IranMania) - Zambian President Levy Patric Mwanawasa in Lusaka voiced interest in expansion of ties with Iran, said IRNA.
In a meeting with Iranian Accredited Ambassador to Zambia Hamid Moayyer, he pointed to Iran's capabilities in carrying out giant projects and
called for further presence of Iranian companies in his country.
Moayyer, for his part, conveyed greetings of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to his Zambian counterpart.
Outlining the present status of bilateral relations between the two countries, the ambassador called for removal of all obstacles in the way of
promotion of mutual ties.
He also welcomed more active presence of Zambian delegation in the second meeting of the joint Iran-Zambia commission to be held in Tehran.
During his three-day stay in Zambia, Moayyer also conferred with the country's ministers of foreign affairs and energy and several other officials.
