Friday, 2 December 2005* PKK leader Abdullah Hicab: I am not liable for Roj TV
One of the PKK's leading members Abdullah Hicab who has been accused for being administrator of Roj TV has said that he has no political and executive links to the Roj TV.
Hicab in his written announcements criticized his portrayal as an executive of Roj TV for linking PKK with Roj TV.
He has stated that he has no executive and political links to the PKK's Roj TV. Hicab said that "I have no links with any political parties... At the same time I am the friend of the those parties who struggle for the rights of Kurds. In this context I support the KONGRA-GEL for its endeavour for Kurdish rights."
KONGRA-GEL, the PKK's new name, is considered terrorist organization by the EU, US and and Turkey.
The Roj TV had made an interview with Hicab last year and Hicab was presented as the head of the TV in this interview by the Roj TV itself. Turkish police urged the Danish authorities to ban the ROJ TV on these documents. The PKK's previous TVs, MED and MEDYA TV, were banned by France and United Kingdom.
