Tuesday, 29 November 2005* Living Proof of PKK-Roj TV Connection
Every passing day new proofs are obtained about the connection between terrorist organization Kurdish Workers' Party and Roj TV broadcasts in Denmark. The newest proof shows executive council member of PKK/Kongra-Gel Abdullah Hicap is a Roj TV administrator as well.
On Friday, the Turkish Security Directorate Press Secretary, Ismail Caliskan, said they pass every evidence they have to the related offices as he called for the countries fighting against terrorism to fulfill obligations in terms of international law.
Caliskan showed press members the footage of Hicap on a program named "Rojname" dated 8 July 2004 during a Roj TV broadcast and he was making a speech on behalf of the PKK. The secretary immediately reminded PKK/Kongra-Gel was announced as a terrorist organization by the European Union on 5 July 2004.
"His continuing activities in the European Union constitute a bad example for international counter-terrorism efforts. In the past, some PKK broadcasting bodies active in Germany, Britain, and France were shut down. As for Roj TV, related countries should fulfill their obligation before international laws," Caliskan said.
So far, no concrete step has been taken by Denmark to end ROJ TV from broadcasting despite the evidences presented by Turkey.
Roj TV has offices in Denmark, Belgium, Poland and Sweden. The PKK's previos channells MED and MEDYA TVs had been banned by United Kingdom and France. The PKK is a terrorist organisation according to EU; US and Turkey laws.
