Tuesday, 22 November 2005Macedonian Foreign Minister Ilinka Mitreva will address Tuesday in Brussels at the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, upon invitation of the Committee's Chairman Elmar Brock.
This is the first address of a Macedonian Foreign Minister before the members of the Committee.
Mitreva met Monday with the European Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn. Commissioner Rehn said Macedonia should be granted a candidate status for EU membership.
Mitreva also met her counterparts from Poland, Netherlands and Sweden, Stefan Meller, Bernard Bot and Laila Freivalds, as well as British Minister of State for Europe Douglas Alexander
As MIA's correspondent reports, all interlocutors expressed a support of Macedonian efforts for the EU membership.
Minister Mitreva will end her visit Wednesday by holding talks with the European Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security, Franco Frattini.
