At least 120 workers were killed and more than 150 others were injured in a blaze at a clothes factory in Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka.
The fire broke out late on Saturday on the ground floor of the nine-storey factory, quickly engulfing the entire building and stranding workers on upper floors.
It was not clear what caused the fire but firefighters suspected an electrical short circuit, and officials said there were no fire-escape stairs in the factory. Some workers jumped from building to escape.
A 2010 blaze at another clothes factory in the same area in Dhaka killed 25 people.
Nearly 2 million people work in more than 4,000 clothes factories in Bangladesh. The country makes an annual income of $24 billion in exports of ready-wear clothing.
