19 September 2012The Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping will be made a successor to Hu Jintao during the forthcoming party congress.
I haven’t got the slightest doubt about it, said Dong Jianhua, the deputy chairman of the All-China Committee of the People’s Political Consultative Council, in an interview with the CNN television network.
He refuted allegations that Xi Jinping’s political status may be changed due to his two-week absence. Xi Jinping made no public appearances from the 1st to the 14th of this month and cancelled several meetings with foreign guests, including the US State Secretary Hillary Clinton.
However, the date for the next congress of the Chinese Communist Party that’s due to launch the process of rotation in the upper echelons of power has not yet been made public. But Dong Jianhua claims that the momentous forum is due to take place in October. |
