SOCAR Operates to Increase Injection into Gas Storage |
13 September 2012SOCAR plans to complete the drilling of two wells in underground gas storage Kalmaz in the frame of the increase of gas injection into underground storage facilities before the end of the year, a source at SOCAR told Trend on Tuesday.
Much drilling is being carried out in both wells and their drilling will be completed in a month.
"Preparation is being carried out for drilling new wells, both in Garadagh and Kalmaz, storage facilities," the source said.
It is expected that the volume of gas in underground facilities in Azerbaijan can reach 3.5-3.7 billion cubic meters as a result of injection.
As a result of last year's season of injection, the volume of gas in underground facilities of the country amounted to about 3.25 billion cubic meters of gas compared to 3.05 billion cubic meters in the previous year. |
