Closed Rafah Gate Leaves Palestinian Patients in Difficult Situations |
8 August 2012Health Ministry of Palestine in Gaza has stated that patients from Gaza are having difficult times because of the closed Rafah crossing point.
Official speaker for Palestinian Health Ministry, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, said Wednesday that the Rafah crossing point was the "life passage" of hundreds of critically ill patients whose treatments continue outside Gaza.
Al-Qudra said that the closing of Rafah gate will cause health problems in Gaza to grow and said, "Nearly 450 different variety of medicines have run out. Some tests and operations are now impossible."
Al-Qudra stated that they expect that Egypt would open the Rafah gate, solving thousands of patiens' problems.
Egypt's Rafah crossing was closed indefinitely after an attack on the Egyptian-Israeli border post at the weekend which killed 16 Egyptian soldiers. |
