Iran, EU Officials to Meet in Istanbul Late July |
17 July 2012Iranian Deputy Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Bagheri and Deputy to EU Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmid are going to meet in Istanbul on July 24.
During Moscow talks, Iran and P5+1 agreed on negotiations between experts of both sides in Istanbul on details of proposals presented by each of the sides. The agreement was followed by talks between experts of the two sides in Istanbul on July 3, reports ISNA.
During dialogues the two sides agreed to hold a meeting between Bagheri and Schmid to examine views of both sides.
The results of the talks scheduled for July 24 could lead to further negotiations between Iran and P5+1 or delay the negotiation.
In case the deputies' meeting is held successfully, Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili and the EU Foreign Policy Chief will have a phone call to decide whether to sit behind the table again or not. |
