President: Ukraine Interested in Cooperation with Azerbaijan in Oil and Gas Sector |
12 July 2012Ukraine is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in gas and oil refining industries, Ukrainian President's official website reported.
President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych made this statement during an informal meeting with the Club of Chief Editors of CIS countries, Baltic States and Georgia.
"We are constantly in talks with our partners from Azerbaijan. We believe that it is profitable for Azerbaijan and Ukraine to establish relationship in the gas and oil refining spheres," President Yanukovych said.
He said part of this work has been already done. According to Yanukovych, now Ukraine receives about four million tons of oil from Azerbaijan annually.
President Yanukovych also said Ukraine is interested in participating in multi-faceted energy projects. The question, in particular, is about the construction of gas transportation systems. Yanukovych reminded that the country has the relevant resources and experience for that. |
