13 June 2012Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Wednesday issues remarks made by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the Kurdish issue at a group meeting of his party at the Turkish Parliament, three Turkish security personnel killed by terrorist organization PKK in south-eastern Turkey and statements made by Director General of Turkish Airlines (THY) Temel Kotil on Africa.
Commenting on Prime Minister Erdogan's remarks made at the Turkish Parliament on Tuesday, all dailies quoted Erdogan as saying "we will continue to support the process for a solution of the Kurdish issue. We are pleased to see that the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) have placed the Kurdish issue on their agenda and are seeking reconciliation". Prime Minister Erdogan said in his speech that the Kurdish language would be an elective course in Turkish schools.
Dailies also highlighted the three Turkish security personnel killed by terrorist organization PKK in south-eastern Turkey on Tuesday. Two expert sergeants and a temporary village guard were killed in Sirnak and Hakkari provinces.
Yeni Safak daily quoted THY Director General Temel Kotil as saying that "the THY is the fourth biggest group making investments in Africa. We will increase the number of cities the THY flies to in Africa to 30 soon". |
