31 May 2012Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TICA) extended support to Bosnian villagers on the development of apiculture.
A ceremony took place in Jelyezno Polye village of the city of Zenica on Wednesday in which TICA distributed beehives and colonies of bees to villagers.
The ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, including Bosniak member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Bakir Izetbegovic and TICA's Director for Balkans and Eastern Europe Ali Maskan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Izetbegovic said that Turkey was an economic and political super power in the region.
Turkey is a part of peace and integration here, Izetbegovic stressed.
Maskan, in his part, said that the apiculture project had economic and societal dimensions.
We will distribute 620 beehives and colonies of bees to 80 families, Maskan indicated.
The apiculture project cost 1.2 million Turkish liras.
