Freedom and Justice Party's Presidential Candidate Mursi Ensures Rights of Women and Minorities |
29 May 2012Freedom and Justice Party's presidential candidate Muhammed Mursi ensured rights of women and Christians if he elected.
Speaking at a press conference in Cairo on Tuesday, Mursi said, "my speech was my promise. I promised that the government, presidency and constitutional institutions would represent all of the Egyptians" .
Mursi said that he would protect the financial and emotional rights of security forces who were honest and he said that he would find out the authorities who had abused their tasks.
Mursi claimed the top spot in the first round of Egypt's landmark election last week, putting him in the June 16-17 run-off vote against Ahmed Shafiq, former Mubarak's regime last prime minister.
Mursi said that Christians who were the partners of the country would have equal rights with Muslims.
Muhammed Mursi said that they were very sensitive about women's rights and women in the country will have full rights in jobs and education.
He said, "new Egpyt will be a symbol of both political and economic prosperity."
He promised that they never henceforth will shutdown newspapers or TV channels.
Muhammed Mursi won around 5.8 million votes, 25 percent, while former premier Shafiq totalled 5.5 million votes, according to final official results announced yesterday. |
