A delegation of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan will attend a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will be held in Beijing on May 11, 2012.
The foreign ministers plan to discuss the agenda of the forthcoming (June 6-7, 2012) meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO members, as well as current issues of the organization's activity.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was founded in 2001 in Shanghai. At present, the SCO members are Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Iran, India, Pakistan and Mongolia have observer status, while dialogue partners are Belarus and Sri Lanka.
