Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb.22/ Trend N. Kirtskhalia /

USAID Georgia Mission Director Stephen Haykin and Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Georgia Zurab Kharatishvili will open the last session of cycle trainings for professional development of district election commission at the Sheraton Metekhi Palace Hotel in Tbilisi on Wednesday.

The U.S. Embassy in Georgia told Trend, the initiative is realized within the USAID's four-year project "Improving confidence in the electoral processes", implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems.

The project aims at increasing the efficiency of electoral administration, involvement of civil society and citizens in issues relating to elections, and assistance in reforming the electoral law in Georgia.

Retraining of 380 members of 76 district election commissions will be completed in late February.
