The Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China has increased its foreign trade in 2011 by around 33%, well in excess of the country’s average, says China Daily, quoting certain local sources.
XUAR has exported $16,8 billion worth of goods, growing 30% compared with the previous year. Imports have reached almost $6 billion, growing 44%.

Some 78% of the total foreign trade in 2011 have been made with the former soviet republics in the Central Asia, with Kazakhstan being the largest trade partner for XUAR.
