Saturday, 11 February 2012The Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China has increased its foreign trade in 2011 by around 33%, well in excess of the country’s average, says China Daily, quoting certain local sources.
XUAR has exported $16,8 billion worth of goods, growing 30% compared with the previous year. Imports have reached almost $6 billion, growing 44%.
Some 78% of the total foreign trade in 2011 have been made with the former soviet republics in the Central Asia, with Kazakhstan being the largest trade partner for XUAR.
According to China Daily, the state has been actively promoting the XUAR, abounding in natural resources, in order to make it a regional economic center. |
