ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish dailies covered in their Friday editions the National Intelligence Organization's (MIT) objection to the prosecutor, former chief of General Staff retired general Ilker Basbug's testimony and security forces' operation against terrorist organization in southeastern province of Hakkari and eastern province of Bingol.

Hurriyet daily wrote about testimony that was given by Basbug who was under arrest within the scope of the internet memorandum probe. The daily quoted Basbug as saying that he certainly rejected that the memorandum had been prepared in accordance with his instructions, stating that he did not have any information about content of those internet websites. "I did not have even a computer in my room during that period," the daily quoted Basbug as saying in his testimony.

Several dailies wrote about the MIT's response to the prosecutor in Istanbul. Sabah newspaper said that MIT sent a petition to the prosecutor's office saying that the prosecutor did not have right to question MIT officials without a permission by the Prime Ministry.

Most of dailies wrote about operations against terrorists in Hakkari and Bingol, saying that security teams killed 13 terrorists in those provinces. Yeni Safak daily said that a group of terrorists attacked a military unit in Cukurca town of Hakkari, stating that four terrorists were killed in the clash. The daily said in another operation in Bingol, nine terrorists were killed by gendarme teams.
