Thursday, 26 January 2012Today Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov has received Pierre Morel, EU Special Representative for Central Asia.
At the meeting the sides discussed the current state and prospects of the relations in the format of Kazakhstan-Central Asia-the European Union.
According to P.Morel, the issues related to combating terrorism and drug trafficking, border management, regional and transboundary cooperation, consequences of the developments in Zhanaozen were also discussed during the meeting.
"We also discussed an issue of the future of Afghanistan in the context of important political conferences, which were held last year," the EU Special Representative for Central Asia said.
