UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says Greek Cypriot President Dimitris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu have agreed to exchange data on property within the next two weeks.

Ban was speaking at a January 25 press conference at the UN following two days of negotiations between the parties at the Greentree Estate in Long Island, New York.

Cyprus is divided between Turkish Cypriots in the north and Greek Cypriots in the south.

A UN peacekeeping mission has been manning a cease-fire line between the two communities since Turkish forces invaded the island in 1974.

Ban called the negotiations "robust and intensive" but admitted only limited progress was achieved.

He said he will provide a report to the Security Council in February, and if that report is "positive," will call a multilateral conference in late April or early May.
