Bulgaria, S Korea Mutually Recognize Driver's Licenses |

Tuesday, 24 January 2012The citizens of South Korea can freely travel by car across the European Union after obtaining Bulgarian driver's licenses under an agreement that comes into force this week.
In order to request Bulgarian driver's licenses, South Koreans need to have documents proving that they are foreigners residing in Bulgaria, as well as documents proving that they have received at east primary education. These should be filed with the Bulgarian traffic police.
Bulgarians can also apply for South Korean driver's licenses.
On September 27, the two countries signed an agreement for mutual recognition of driver's licenses. It became the first agreement of this type Bulgaria has signed with a country outside Europe.
The agreement was signed during the official visit of South Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik in Sofia. |
