Reports from Pakistan say an apparent U.S. drone missile strike has killed four suspected militants in the North Waziristan region, near the Afghan border.

Western news agencies report that the attack took place in the village of Degan, near Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan.

This is an area where Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants are active.

The reports quote Pakistani officials as saying the missile strike appears to have targeted a vehicle that was carrying suspected militants.
