Friday, 20 January 2012Yerik Utembayev, Kazakh Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, Head of Kazakhstan's Mission to the EU and NATO, met with newly elected Chairman of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.
The Kazakh diplomat congratulated Mr. Martin Schulz on his election as President of the European Parliament and wished success in new work. Utembayev noted the role of the European Parliament as one of the most important European legal institutions. He stressed the high level of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation between the EU and Kazakhstan.
The sides expressed hope for strengthening cooperation between the Parliaments of Kazakhstan and the European Union, promising to make every effort to do it.
Utembayev invited Schulz to pay official visit to Kazakhstan. The European parliamentarian accepted the invitation, expressing confidence that it will contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries. |
