Friday, 20 January 2012The majority of Croatians will vote in favor of their country's EU accession, according to poll results published just three days before the upcoming referendum.
A total of 60% of all Croatians surveyed support their country's EU entry, while 31% are against and 9% have not decided yet.
Meanwhile, the Croatian parliament passed a declaration describing the state's EU membership as a "strategic national interest."
Officials have warned that a negative outcome would result in the collapse of the country's credit ratings, EurActiv reports.
However, in recent days, opponents have organised mass rallies, warning that Croatia would surrender its national sovereignty to the Brussels bureaucracy.
