ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Tuesday issues Turkish President Abdullah Gul's invitation to former presidents, poor weather conditions in many parts of Turkey, training jet crash and unemployment figure.

Almost all newspapers wrote about poor weather conditions in the country especially in Istanbul. Hurriyet daily said heavy snowfall that began in Istanbul on Monday afternoon paralyzed daily life and traffic, stating that snowfall disrupted ferry services and Bosphorus bridge was closed to traffic for a while. The paper quoted meteorology officials as saying that snow would also continue in Istanbul on Tuesday. Sabah daily said that thousands of people had to walk for long hours due to heavy snow in Istanbul.

"Gesture from President Gul" headlined Milliyet daily, saying that President Abdullah Gul invited former presidents Suleyman Demirel and Ahmet Necdet Sezer to travel together on board to funeral of former president Rauf Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) who died last Friday. The daily said that both former presidents thanked Gul for his invitation and told him that they could not attend the funeral.

Most of papers wrote about a military training jet crash in the Aegean Sea and said helicopters, planes and navy ships were searching for the plane.

Yeni Safak wrote about unemployment figure and said that unemployment in Turkey dropped 2.1 points in three-month period of October 2011 -- covering September, October and November 2011 -- to 9.1 percent.
