Ruling Party Nur Otan Scores 81 Percent of Votes in Kazakh Parliamentary Elections

Ruling party Nur Otan scored 80.74 percent of votes in the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan, according to Kazakh CEC's preliminary data.

Ak Zhol party scored 7.46 percent of votes, the Communist Party - 7.2 percent.

Adilet, Kazakhstan Patriots' Party, Nationwide social-democratic party and the Kazakh Social Democratic Party Auyl, which also took part in the election, scored less then 2 percent of votes each.

"These are the preliminary results. We will obtain more exact results on voter turnout and voting results from the remaining protocols," CEC Head Kuandyk Turgankulov said.

The Central Election Commission should publish the final results of elections of members of Majilis (lower chamber of the Parliament) elected on party lists no later than Jan.22.
