Turkey Ratifies Agreement on Joint Using of Kapikoy-Razi Border with Iran |

Monday, 16 January 2012Turkey today ratified the agreement on joint using of checkpoint between Turkey and Iran, Resmi Gazeti reported.
The two countries signed an agreement of joint usig of Kapikoy-Razi border checkpoint on the Turkish-Iranian border on Feb. 14 in Tehran.
The Kapikoy-Razi border crossing was opened in a ceremony attended by Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu.
The new border was opened in order to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Kapikoy-Razi border lies crossing between Iran's West Azerbaijan province and Turkey's Van province.
"We hope that by opening the Kapikoy-Razi border we could achieve the USD 30-billion target in trade transactions between the two countries," Iranian ISNA agency quoted Salehi as saying during the ceremony.
Salehi described the future of Tehran and Ankara as "bright," adding that the presidents of Iran and Turkey are determined to strengthen bilateral relations. |
