ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Monday issues the funeral ceremony of late football player of Fenerbahce team Lefter Kucukandonyadis, the details of funeral ceremony which will be held for deceased former president Rauf Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's visit to Lebanon.

All newspapers wrote the funeral ceremony which was held for Kucukandonyadis at Fenerbahce soccer team's Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also attended the ceremony which brought the supporters of Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Besiktas and Trabzonspor teams together. 10,000 people participated in the ceremony held for Kucukandonyadis who was later laid to rest in Buyukada. Kucukandonyadis died at the age of 86.

Another topic all newspapers wrote was the details of the funeral ceremony of Denktas. Former Turkish Cypriot president, who died on January 13 at the age of 88, will be laid to rest in Cumhuriyet Park in Lefkosa upon a decision by TRNC Council of Ministers. Also, a contest will be held to select the monument which will built in the tomb of Denktas. Rauf Denktas will be laid to rest on Tuesday.

Newspapers also wrote the visit of Foreign Minister Davutoglu to Lebanon. Speaking at a UN meeting entitled "Reform and Transitions to Democracy" organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in Beirut, Lebanon, Davutoglu said that Syrian leader Bashar al-Asad might not keep his promise about the general pardon. Davutoglu said that al-Asad previously made similar statements, but unfortunately the promises had not been kept so far. Al-Asad, on Sunday, declared general pardon covering the crimes committed between March 15, 2011 and January 15, 2012. "We have heard such statements so many times before. After my visit to Syria in April 2011, martial law and emergency rule were lifted in Syria, but instead a more oppressive regime was imposed. Now, a general pardon is declared," said Davutoglu. He added that if it was not fulfilled sincerely, such pardon declarations did not work.
