Turkey to Support Kyrgyzstan in Economic and Military Areas

Turkey will provide Kyrgyzstan with support in a wide range of areas including military and economic, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said at a news-conference on Thursday, TRT Xeber TV channel reported.

Gul made this statement after his meeting with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev, who is visiting Turkey.

Atambayev kicked off his four-day visit to Turkey on Thursday.

Atambayev also plans to meet with and a number of high-level officials there.

The visit will be Atambayev's second official visit after he was inaugurated to the presidential post.

Turkey was the first country which recognized the independence of Kyrgyzstan and the four other Central Asian countries in December 1991.
