Election Commission Withdraws 24 Candidates from Race

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kazakhstan withdrew 24 candidates in the Majilis (lower chamber of parliament), from the race for submitting incorrect information on tax returns, the Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee Vladimir Foos said at the meeting.

Mr Foos said the excluded candidates are members of almost all the registered parties. Extraordinary elections to the Majilis will be held on January 15.
