An explosion ripped through a bus terminal in Pakistan's north-western tribal region along the Afghan border, killing at least 15 people and injuring 22, rescue officials said, DPA reported.

The blast occurred in the Jamrood Bazar area of Khyber, one of the seven tribal districts where the Taliban and al-Qaeda have hideouts.

"Our workers have counted 15 bodies lying along the road," said Mujahid Khan, a spokesman for the private Edhi ambulance service.

Rehman Shah, a local security official, confirmed the blast but could not yet give casualty figures.
