Turkey and Bulgaria signed an international highway passenger and cargo transportation agreement today.

Turkey's Transportation Minister Binali Yýldýrým and his Bulgarian counterpart Ivaylo Moskovski signed the agreement following Bulgaria-Turkey Transportation and Communication Commission meeting in Sofia.

"The agreement will improve our mutual trade," Moskovski said during the signature ceremony.

The new agreement will annul the previous one signed in Ankara on April 16, 1977.

Moskovski later hosted a dinner in Yýldýrým's honor. Yýldýrým is expected to return to Turkey later on Friday.
