Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutošlu said Iran was ready to resume talks on its nuclear program today.

"Iranian officials agreed to resume talks on nuclear program," Davutošlu said in a press conference with Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba in Ankara.

Turkey hosted the last round of talks on Iran's nuclear program last January, Davutošlu said, and added that the process had been pursued only by exchange of letters since then.

Davutošlu said that Iran was determined to resume nuclear talks and expressed hope that talks would resume soon with mutual goodwill. Turkey was ready to make any necessary contribution to this matter, Davutošlu concluded.
