Voting Activity Increases by 10.3 Percent in Kazakhstan

The voting activity increased by 10.3 percent during the election campaign, the director of the Institute of Social and Political Studies Aygul Sadvokasova said today.

The declared turnout at the beginning of the campaign is over 67 percent. By the end of the campaign, the figure is over 77 percent. This shows an increase of voter turnout.

She said that there are changes in the voters' preferences about political parties.

The rating of the People's Democratic Party "Nur Otan" slightly increased. After the first counting, the rating was 80.5 percent of the respondents. According to the second counting, it was 80.9 percent.

The Kazakh Democratic Party "Ak Jol" raised its rating by 0.5 percent. After the first counting, about 7.0 percent intended to vote for "Ak Jol". According to the second counting, the figure hit 7.5 percent.

The Social-Democratic Party ranked third. It increased the rating during the campaign. The increase was 1.7 percent - from 2.4 percent in the first poll to 4.1 percent - in the second one.

The Kazakh Communist People's Party gains 3.9 percent as of the second poll. The rating of the Kazakh Communist People's Party hit 2.0 percent in the first poll.

The ratings of other parties remained at the same level: the Kazakh Democratic Party "Adilet" - 1.2 percent, the Kazakh Party of Patriots - 0.7 percent.

The Kazakh Social and Democratic Party "Aul" maintains its positions at 0.4 percent.

"Rukhaniyat" left the campaign.

According to the first counting, this party had a rating of 0.1 percent of the respondents.

About 1.2 percent of the respondents have not decided for whom to vote in these elections.

About 0.1 percent refused to answer the question.
