ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Thursday issues Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's remarks on the region, the visit of three force commanders to Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc and compulsory education in Turkey.

On Davutoglu's remarks, Cumhuriyet, Turkiye and Yeni Safak dailies wrote that "a sectarian tension in the region would be a suicide". Dailies quoted Davutoglu as saying "Turkey would not be on the side of any polarization in the region. Turkey is determined to prevent a cold war within a Sunni-Shiite tension. A sectarian tension in the region would be a suicide for the whole region. This is one of the messages I will take to Tehran on Wednesday".

Dailies also highlighted the visit of three force commanders to Deputy Prime Minister Arinc. Commanders of the Turkish Land Forces, Air Force and Navy visited Arinc amid speculations that former Chief of General Staff Ilker Basbug may be arrested in an internet memorandum probe on Thursday. Arinc described the force commanders' visit as "a return visit". Arinc's meeting with the force commanders lasted around 50 minutes.

Dailies also drew attention to a draft law at the Turkish Parliament that would make compulsory education in Turkey 12 years. The draft law will be debated at the parliament next week.
