Kazakhstan Takes over Chair of CSTO

This year Belarus has completed its chairmanship of the Organization of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and transferred this function to Kazakhstan, press service of Kazakh Foreign Affairs Ministry told Kazinform.

The Ministry noted that priorities of Kazakhstan, as CSTO Chair, include the protection of information space of the CSTO member states, development of Collective Rapid Reaction Force (KSOR), collective defense of the airspace of the Central Asian region, formation of anti-drug strategy of the CSTO, development of the training site of the Ministry of Emergencies of Kazakhstan "Astana, the Rock City".

Collective Security Treaty Organization an intergovernmental military alliance between Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
