İsmail Haniyeh made his first trip abroad to Turkey since he came to power in Gaza.
Firstly, the prime minister of Hamas controlled Gaza government İsmail Haniyeh met Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday. During the meeting he mentioned many issues about Palestinian situation. The conversation which was closed to the press kept two and a half hour. Later he met prisoner who released by Israel on 18 December 2011.
On the second day of the visit, he visited Turkısh flotilla Mavi Marmara. He made a press conference there. He thanked Turkısh government and public for their support for the Palestinian issue. Following the speech he said, “We have a duty of loyalty to fleet of freedom martyrs.” After the press conference he met one of the relatives of people who died during the attack to the Mavi Marmara.
Today, Haniyeh joined the group meeting of AKP (Justice Development Party). As soon as he came in the saloon, he was welcomed by a burst of applause by Turkısh parliamentarians. |
