More than a thousand people took part in a protest in Mangistau region have applied for a job, said the agency "Novosti-Kazakhstan", citing the press service of the government.

"Accepted 742 job application dismissed with "Ozenmunaygaz " in the newly opened Drilling Operations," - said the press service of the Mangistau region posted on the website of the government of Kazakhstan.

December 16 in the Zhanaozen city occurred riots in which 16 people died and dozens were injured. Scores of buildings burned, destroyed. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev the following day entered a state of emergency there. Before January 5, the city has a curfew, restricted movement, banned rallies, limited photography, video and the use of copiers. Unrest preceded many months' strike of employees of oil companies who are dissatisfied with the level of their wages.

At a meeting of the Kazakh government head of the government commission Umirzak Shukeyev said that the state will employ all laid-off oil workers.

For this purpose, a special committee on employment, which also addresses the treatment of workers laid off due to the illegality of their dismissal, which was headed by Vice-Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Birzhan Nurymbetov, created.
