Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey had established a balance between rights and freedoms and security in its fight against terrorism and combatted terrorism by keeping this balance.
"None is detained discretionarily, and most fundamental legal principles are taken into consideration," Erdogan told a televised address to the nation.
Erdogan said Turkey was behaving in line with constitution, laws and universal norms and defined Turkey as a state of law.
"It is the most natural right of this nation to fight against injustice with the power and authorization ensured by laws," he said.
Erdogan said nobody could expect Turkey to remain indifferent to those who made the propaganda of terrorism and bloody murderers, who aided and abetted their murders, and who extended logistic support to terrorists in order to help them kill more people.
Moreover, Erdogan said Turkey had recorded great success, broke historic records, and ensured an atmosphere of confidence, peace and brotherhood in the last nine years thanks to government's democratization steps, active stance in foreign policy, and efforts to boost stability, confidence, security, peace and tranquility.
Erdogan hoped that the government would achieve its new targets in stability, confidence, unity, solidarity and unity, and bring Turkey to better conditions. |
