Georgia's GDP growth will amount to five per cent in 2012, finance minister Dmitry Gvindadze told media today.

He said that 2011 was quite successful from the fiscal point of view. Despite the global challenges, the country managed to preserve stability.

"We expect GDP growth at five per cent in 2012," he said. This means that the economy will increase by three billion lari in 2012."

He said that this is quite a big increase, followed by improvement of the socio-economic status of the population.

Georgia's economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2011 will hit about six per cent, Mr Gvindadze said.
