Chargé d'Affaires of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumabekov on behalf of the country's leadership has handed over a jubilee medal "20th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan" to Secretary General of the Muslim World League Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki; the Kazakh MFA's press service reports.

Within the meeting the Kazakh diplomat highly appraised the secretary General's contribution to the process of development and strengthening of bilateral relations and the dialogue of civilizations, including in the plan of assisting to expansion of interreligious ties.

Dr. Al-Turki, in turn, congratulated the Kazakhstani people on the 20th anniversary of independence and gave high estimation to the policy of peaceful coexistence of representatives of numerous ethnic groups and nationalities conducted by our country's leadership. In his opinion, Kazakhstan compares favorably with other countries thanks to President N.Nazarbayev's initiatives, which are aimed at activation of a dialog between civilizations.
