Kazakh Parliament Passed 152 Laws in 2011

In 2011 the Parliament of Kazakhstan adopted 152 laws, Senate Speaker Kairat Mami told a plenary sitting on Wednesday.

"This year we have held 36 plenary sittings and approved 152 laws. The number of inquiries submitted by deputies to the Prime Minister and other governmental authorities of Kazakhstan was 206. Most of them concerned economic, social and cultural development, housing, education, legal order," he said.

Mami noted that given the special role of Parliament in the society its status should be increased.
